It's true. If I don't like being described as someone/something, then it is being called an artist. I am not. I don't feel like one. When I think of the word "artist", people like Picasso, Van Gogh or Shakespeare come to my mind. I am a crafter. I make dolls. I call myself a doll maker. Whenever people ask me what I do for a living, my answer is "I make dolls". I feel I sound full of myself when I say "I'm an artist". And then when I show people what I am doing they are like "Oh, well that's different!" ..Yeah I know.
I might be artistic. But I really see myself as a crafter.
Does anyone else feel like this? Or are you proud to call yourself an artist, regarding what you do? Let me know!

Christmas Is Around The Corner
Merry Early Christmas Everybody! I will be finishing shop orders and start prepping convention stock for February, so you won't see me around much here. Follow me on FB if you want to keep in touch. I don't abandon this account, just pause my presence here for a while.

Keep The Canyon Lake Dam Path Open
Fellow artists and friends! I ask you to please support me in my community on something completely non-doll related. The dam path near my home had been shut off due to the complaints of ONE person. Thousands now aren't allowed anymore to cross the beautiful Canyon Lake dam path. Please sign the petition to help my community, so we can hopefully soon again walk this path and enjoy the beauty of Canyon Lake from this unique place. I believe the only prerequisite to being an artist is that you make art. And you certainly do.
But you should be able to choose the title you prefer, and I respect that if you'd rather be called a crafter.
